Inside the TARDIS

Last night I went to the Wellington show of Inside the TARDIS. In a nutshell, it was a 2.5 hour show, involving Katy Manning, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, and also some guy called Tim Ferguson.

Outside of a nutshell is...

The first half of the show was comprised of Tim Ferguson interviewing the three guests seperately in chronological sequence. Katy stepped from the mockup TARDIS at the right of the stage, Colin entered from the back of the stage with a laser thingee providing a tunnel (probably useful considering the amount of smoke they flooded the place with!), and Sylv provided shadow puppets before entering comedically...

During the interviews, clips from the actor's era would occasionally be played on the big screen so the actor could comment. I'm surprised they could see anything from that angle (and during the first part of Colin's interview, there was so much smoke even he admitted he couldn't see the clip)

At the start of the second half, the winner of the draw was picked, followed by said winner taking part (with Tim and the guests) in a brief audio play scripted by Kate Orman. I found the play amusing, though Jeff wasn't impressed.

Following the play, Tim asked questions which the audience had written in a book in the foyer during the break, and then allowed audience members to ask questions directly. Some of the questions were good, others not as much...

And then after the show had finished, Colin, Sylv and Katy appeared in the foyer to sign autographs and meet the fans. The queue for this was sizable.

I took many pictures during the event, but unfortunately my digital camera does not deal well with movement, and so the pictures at right are the best of the 50 or so I took...

From top: Tim interviews Katy, Colin appears (amit an extreme amount of smoke), Sylvester explains something animatedly, Colin and Sylv during the play (Katy is behind them!), the whole group during the play, and finally the actors signing autographs in the foyer.
